These vintage easy-to-use pocket size gadgets are helpful in considering the safety of a particular slope and avalanche hazards. The Life-Link Slope Meter is equipped with a display that shows the angle of the slope in degrees and which slope degrees are most prone to slides. A built-in bubble level ensures accuracy. On the reverse side, it also has a TOPO-GRAF for both 40- and 80-foot map contours, which is helpful in looking at terrain on a topographical map. The device is lightweight and compact, making it easy to carry and store. Fits easily into shirt or back pocket at 3" x 5" and less than 1/2" thick. It is also waterproof, making it suitable for use in any weather conditions. The Snow Crystal Guide lists ten types of snow crystal particles or grains and has both examples and graphic symbols for each one and related concerns on slope stability. The guide also has a grain size grid with 1mm, and 2mm size differences.
