I used these 2 subs in an active stereo set up, using a DSP. They are not very musical, but are great for video, and do help music still. These were my "proof of concept" subs, upgraded to 2 very nice B&W subs. What I liked about these Energy's is you can bypass all controls, so your signal is directly coupled to the sub's amp without any pots in between. Yes, I am a crazy dragon chasing audiophile. I had to open the back plate of the smaller sub, I knocked the RCA connetor in, but now the sub won't power up. I must have disconnected something, so I am throwing the small one in for now. It is such a pain to do, but I will open both back panels and see if I can find what I disconnected. I will sell that sub working for $75. The S8 is more detailed, about 3 dB down at the same volume, while the S10 digs down deeper, but not as sharp. For both subs, right now $199 OBO. Not worth shipping really, but I live in Campbell River and delivery on the island might be possible if you are not in a hurry. Great cheap project subs to try stereo (it is BETTER sounding with 2 well set up subs, mono or stereo). Some minor scuffing on the S8, a light sand and stain would make this sub like new. I just don't have the black stain. Please email
