We’re a responsible, easygoing, friendly couple in our mid-to-late 40s, looking for a private acreage or large lot to rent long-term on Vancouver Island where we can put down roots. ✔️ No pets, no children, non-smokers ✔️ Entrepreneurs with reliable income ✔️ Long-term rental preferred ✔️ No drama, drugs or junk collection ✔️ Impeccably tidy (OCD-like) 😁 ✔️ Excellent references + 5 star reviews ✔️ Work trade considered ✔️ Rent-to-own or owner financing a possibility for the perfect space What We're Looking For: ✔️ Size & Privacy: 0.5 to 2+ acres, private and secluded ✔️ Location Preferences: Sooke, Jordan River, Port Renfrew, Cowichan Lake, Shawnigan Lake, Mill Bay, Malahat or surrounding areas, but open to other locations for the right situation. Including remote areas. ✔️ Living Setup: Room for an RV w/small addition for woodstove, and the ability to potentially build a tiny house ✔️ Workshop & Storage: Space for a removable shed and/or a sea can ✔️ Gardening & Sustainability: Space for a greenhouse and a small garden ✔️ Utilities: Open to both off-grid & serviced properties, water access a bonus ✔️ Affordability: Looking for a reasonable long-term rental arrangement Who We Are: 🏡 Skilled & Hardworking: Exceptionally skilled Carpenter/Woodworker with over 25+ years of experience, tree faller, mechanically inclined, green thumbs. Experts at organization & property beautification. Also open to a work trade or partial work trade arrangement. 🛠️ Creative & Independent: We enjoy working on projects, like woodworking, and need a place where we can do so without too many restrictions. 🌿 Outdoor Enthusiasts: We love dirt biking/quading, archery, fishing, camping, foraging, and sailing. We also are also frequently vendors at farmers markets. 🐕 Great with Animals: We have experience with dogs and other livestock and are open to property caretaking exchange for owners who may live out of town for extended periods. 🚐 Travelers: We often travel during the winter months, so we’re looking for a place where we can return year after year.
