Fantastic tube-FET hybrid ‘pencil’ style condenser studio microphone made in BC by respected boutique manufacturer Advanced Audio. “The CM28 offers the warmth of a tube circuit combined with the detail of the Class "A" discrete circuits … capsule similar to Neumann KM84 … 6dB more headroom…. low noise … smooth, detailed response … excellent choice for acoustic instruments … also high-SPL situations such as the recording of percussion.” The capsule size is 22 mm - almost a large diaphragm - so it has sparkly high end as well as a surprising amount of low end extension. I’ve had excellent results on piano, acoustic guitar, room mics, could even use for vocals. Two switches: low end rolloff, -15 dB pad switch.
