Live-in Caretaker

Overview We are seeking a dedicated onsite/live-in Caretaker (individual or couple) to join our team and maintain the day to day operations of our rural, mobile home park in Malahat, British Columbia, Canada. Benefits include subsidized accommodation for a rustic 2-bedroom suite, parking for 2 vehicles and vacation pay/time. Duties • Onsite presence, approximately 4-6 hours/day and on-call for urgent issues (which might include weekends, evenings and holidays). • Liaise with tenants; manage complaints, expectations and resolutions. Set up meetings as needed • Collect rent, issue notices and maintain tenant records • Enforce rule compliancy and follow Provincial Acts and processes • Assist staff and manage staff schedule, timesheets, and work assignments. Ensure staff safety and create incident reports • Inspection and maintenance of building, roads, trees, landscape, septic services, streetlights, drainage, water leaks, well water monitoring, vehicles and equipment. Address minor repairs and coordinate with maintenance staff for major issues. Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment • Assist in developing new programs to increase efficiency of Park operations and safety • Perform general cleaning tasks to upkeep the premises and property • A full list of duties will be discussed during the interview process. Requirements • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. • Intermediate Computer skills - MS Word, MS Excel, OneDrive, email, and internet for administrative tasks. • Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 50lbs, climbing a ladder, walking the site property, and handle all outdoor weather conditions. • Ability to clean and maintain various areas effectively • Ability to multitask and prioritize • Must learn Rules and Regulations • Must gain knowledge of BC Manufactured Home Act and BC Residential Tenancy Act • When applicable, must complete required courses and training. • Must have a valid driver’s license and an insured vehicle • Must have a cell phone. • Experience preferred in facilities maintenance or as a caretaker • Preference given to EOCP Small Water System Certified Operators.
