This is a beautiful violin with a clear, powerful tone. It features a European spruce top and European maple back and sides, with an ebony fingerboard and pegs. It’s currently fitted with a 1950s synthetic chin rest, and two additional chin rests (ebony and rosewood) are included in the case. The bow is perfectly matched to the violin — Pernambuco, dead straight, and carefully selected after testing many options over the course of a month. This violin performs far above its price range. It has been professionally appraised for insurance purposes at $4,000 for the violin and $2,500 for the bow. Signed appraisal papers from a renowned luthier are included with the sale. It’s strung with Evah Pirazzi Golds and comes with an unopened spare set in the soft-shell case. Selling to raise funds for medical expenses. A truly outstanding violin.
