I currently have openings in my home teaching studio in the Carey area of Saanich/Victoria, BC. I was an instructor at one of Vancouver's most prestigious young music academies, the Mozart School of Music in Vancouver and have been teaching all ages for more than 12 years. My studio there consisted of students of all types, from beginners at age 5 to early advanced players in their early 40s. Younger students are fun as well and I have coached several students through RCM examinations. The instruments I teach include guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and banjo. My teaching style is centered around developing technique and musicality, but I never forget to include an atmosphere of fun and improvisation. References are available upon request and my schedule is moderately flexible throughout the week. Older students receive customized lessons based around their individual needs and goals while younger students follow a more structured curriculum in order to give them musical tools and development. Lesson rates are: $25 per 30 min / $37.50 per 45 min / $45 per 60 min Styles I am comfortable teaching at a high level: Rock, Pop, Acoustic, Classical, Fingerstyle, Metal (All variations), Bluegrass, Indie, and Blues. I have a degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Victoria and have competed internationally. My rates are fairly modest, and deals are offered for signing up for multiple lessons.
