Position: Maritime Search and Rescue Coordinator We are currently looking for qualified Maritime Search and Rescue Coordinators to join our team! Job Information Selection Process Number:24-DFO-NCRCCG-EA-617278 Reference Number:DFO24D-154296-000008 Job Titles: Maritime Search and Rescue Coordinator Tenure: Various types of appointments(Casual, Term, Indeterminate, etc . ) Locations: Various locations across Canada Rates of Pay: $93,148 to $106,393 annual salary not including overtime Classification : GT-06 Work schedule:Maritime Search and Rescue Coordinators work on a rotating shift schedule to maintain 24/7 service . Language requirements Various (Bilingual imperative BBB, bilingual BBC, English Essential) Information on language requirements Qualifications candidates must have for a Maritime Search and Rescue Coordinator, GT-06 (essential) * A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience * Watchkeeping Mate Certificate or Watchkeeping Mate, Near Coastal certificate, approved under STCW 95 and issued under the Canada Shipping Act, 2001 Marine Personnel Regulations SOR/2007-115 (or equivalent*) * Experience in at least one of the following: * 12 months sea time experience as a navigation officer in charge of a watch * 12 months experience as a maritime coordinator in a Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) or in a Marine Rescue Sub-Centre (MRSC) in Canada; or Equivalent experience as per article 106(2)(C) of the Marine Personnel Regulations (SOR/2007-115) * 12 months experience in Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) operations, such as the Regional Operations Centre * Knowledge of maritime search and rescue practices and procedures * Ability to communicate effectively orally * Ability to communicate effectively in writing * Demonstrating integrity and respect * Thinking things through * Working effectively with others * Showing initiative and being action-oriented*Equivalent as determined by Transport Canada’s Regulations for equivalency . Operational requirements * Requirement to work shift work * Requirement to work overtime * Requirement to travel * Requirement to work within secure facilities * Requirement to obtain and maintain a valid Health Canada Medical Conditions of Employment * Obtain and maintain a valid secret security clearance * Willingness and ability to work on a rotating shift schedule is used to maintain 24/7 service * Willingness and ability to be part of a stand-by schedule with possibility of call back for overtime work * Willingness and ability to wear and maintain a uniform per CCG standards * The completion of the following two courses within 12 months from appointment to the position in addition to the appropriate On-the-Job Training program is mandatory: * Maritime Search Planning Course (MSP) * Search and Rescue (SAR) Mission Coordinator Course (SMC) * The completion of the following course within a timeline that is operationally feasible: * SAR Mobile Facilities/On-Scene coordinator Course (SMF/OSC) Important Notes * All communication regarding this process will be in your preferred language of choice (English or French). * When answering the experience questions, we suggest you prepare your answers in a Word document and then copy and paste your answers in the application form. * We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process.
