I have about 7 cubic yards of brown clay soil to give away. It is screened, meaning that nearly all concrete, road base, sand, organics, and rocks have been removed. Remaining is about 99% clay soil. This soil is ideal to use for infill, particularly for someone levelling out their yard. Clay soil is often preferred for infill compared to top soil, as the organics in top soil decompose (shrink) and the sand [in the top soil] is more prone to erode away if you are on a slope. As far as I could tell, pure clay soil is not sold locally. Typical infill that you may buy from landscape suppliers contain a random mix of road base, organics, sand, clay, etc. I'm offering the screened clay soil for free to someone who would appreciate a more level yard. The clay mound is in my backyard, but there is easy access with a wheelbarrow. The distance from the clay mound to the driveway is approx. 130 ft. Location is near Quadra St. and the Pat Bay Hwy. Address will be provided once a meeting is arranged. It is preferred to have the same individual take the lot.
