Souper Bowls of Hope, a popular lunchtime fundraiser in support of Victoria Youth Empowerment Society (YES) is returning this fall with a new approach to raising awareness and donations to support youth at-risk in Greater Victoria. Event Highlights: A gourmet soup lunch prepared by local restaurants and chefs. A one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted pottery bowl to take home. Live entertainment by local musicians. A silent auction filled with unique items. Community connection with others committed to supporting youth. All proceeds from Souper Bowls of Hope directly support the Victoria Youth Empowerment Society (YES), an organization dedicated to helping vulnerable and at-risk youth build healthier, safer, and more hopeful futures. YES provides vital programs such as the Youth Food Pantry, life-skills and employment workshops, safe spaces, outreach, and support services. These programs meet immediate needs like food, clothing, and shelter while also equipping youth with the tools to build independence and resilience. Funds raised through Souper Bowls of Hope go directly into these programs, ensuring that hundreds of youth each year receive the resources and encouragement they need to thrive. What makes Souper Bowls of Hope unique is the sense of community it fosters. Guests gather not just to enjoy a meal, but to be part of something bigger—a collective effort to support and uplift local youth. Named for the hearty soups and one-of-a-kind pottery bowls that each event guest receives as a thank you gift, Souper Bowls of Hope 2025 will be held at the Union Club on Thursday, October 23rd from 11:30am-2:00pm. Attendees, better known as Souper Heroes to the event’s organizers can choose which time will work best for them. While attending the event, attendees will be given opportunities to see firsthand how their support is changing lives and be invited to connect with YES throughout the year so they can follow the stories of hope from YES’ clients. Souper Bowls of Hope has raised more than $1.3 million since it began in 1998 to support vulnerable youth across the capital regional district.
