Hydrow "live outdoor reality" rowing machine, original ("Origin") model. 22" HD touchscreen to access library of 5000+ recorded and live (yes, actually live with athletes on the water around the world) rows, plus full library of pilates/yoga/strength/circuit/etc workouts that are all specifically designed for rowers and are great workouts just on their own (they are not just filler content). Some of the photos of the screen during a row show locations such as Miami and London, England. Subscription is needed for full features such as the library of content, tracking metres rowed for milestone swag rewards, Hydrow challenges, etc. More details about the subscription and "Just Row" mode (no subscription) available at https://hydrow.com/membership/ Prices on the site are in USD, Hydrow is based in Boston, the founder was the Executive Director of Community Rowing (a very well-established and respected rowing organization in Boston, home to the world-famous annual The Head of the Charles Regatta). Personal one-on-one training (via Zoom) is also available if desired so you can work on your technique or train for a specific event like a regatta -- https://hydrow.com/products/services/personal-coaching/. Many who start on Hydrow end up becoming interested in learning how to row on the water, I am certainly one of them. Hydrow and their rowing programs in the library actually do teach you properly how to row, in a way that's transferable to an on-the-water experience. Hydrow is a very smooth feeling machine compared to any other on the market -- the handle belt is fabric like a seatbelt (and not a rattling chain like a Concept 2), and the resistance is an electromagnetic motor that "pushes" back against you like if you were rowing on the water (not a fan like a C2 or a water tank like a Water Rower). The screen and seat come off easily for transportation (pickup only, downtown Victoria), and maintenance is very simple. It can also be stored upright with a wall-mount kit (available from Hydrow). It has wheels on the front legs under the screen, they only engage when the machine is tilted upright to a certain angle to move it. It's a very steady solid machine. The Hydrow Origin screen tilts around to allow you to do on-the-mat workouts next to it (15 degrees up and down and 25 degrees each side). This machine has been very well taken care of and has no mechanical flaws or defects. Hydrow ergs now can be used for some erg challenges that used to only permit Concept 2s, and it has the capacity to do some set time or set distance rows, along with the library of content. Included with the Hydrow: - water rower mat seen - a set of extra wheels for the seat - the handlebar is new - tennis wraps for the handlebar if you like (with the new handlebar this isn't needed, but two sets are included) - four seat pads in a variety of thicknesses including a thin Hornet pad (good if your workout gear is a little slippery) and a Pro W seat pad with three different density foam inserts. This was ordered directly from the company in Sweden, it's great if you're wanting to row for a very long time at once. Paid approx $120 Canadian for that seat pad, it's very high quality. - a handlebar tether/leash if you have younger children who may use the Hydrow (they can make their own account) and you want to ensure if they drop the handle that it doesn't smack into the screen. Paid $4200 for the Hydrow + mat with the exchange rate, duties, and shipping from the US, asking $1200 OBO. Only selling it because of a permanent injury that means I can't erg anymore, which makes me so sad as it's an incredible piece of engineering and company, and a wonderful workout (rowing uses 86% of your muscles when done correctly). Many of the athletes with Hydrow are former rowing Olympians, including Canadian Buffy Williams.
