This versatile dual-mono amp can be used either as an integrated amplifier (i.e., with built in preamp) or a 65 watts/channel (wpc) power amp. Dual-mono means that the power supply is not shared between the two channels - there are two separate power supplies on the same chassis so that if one channel is drawing maximum power for a fortissimo passage the other channel still has full power available to it. The output can be switched between ultra-linear mode (push-pull, 65 wpc) or triode mode (30 wpc), and the amp can be used as a power amp following a stand-alone preamplifier, or can be used as an integrated amplifier, with a number of devices (such as a tuner and CD player) plugged into it and selected by the front panel rotary switch. Note that this is not a phono preamp; high level inputs only (e.g., tape, CD, DVD, tuner). It is still running on the original Chinese KT88 output tubes it came with (I would guess less than 100 hours on them) and the factory-set bias (there are bias adjustments for each output tube; bias adjustment requires only a voltmeter). I have efficient speakers and run it in triode mode, but it sounds fine running in push-pull. I will happily audition it for serious buyers. I cannot remember what I paid for it new, but it was more than $1100. There is a used one as I write this for $1300 plus shipping. If you live on the Island, buy this one and save on shipping! Why am I selling it? I have a Grant Fidelity tube amp that plays nicely with my speakers, and my wife has explained to me that I do not need two amps.
