Leo is a 2 year old pup that appears to be a German Shepherd Dog cross. He’s a happy go lucky boy, joyful and very playful. He’s not shown any aggression towards other dogs when he’s been with them. If a dog tells him off because they don’t want him around he simply has walked away and minds his own business. We’re seeing a medium energy dog and although he’s still very puppy like and playful, when he’s in the house he’s happy to chill out on a dog bed and get every toy from the toy box to play with. Cleaning up his toys is worse than a kindergarten class! He likes toys of all kind, bison horns, cow horns, femur bones, squeaky toys and non squeaky toys. He will nibble at any toy that is soft that is fabric so I stay away from those toys because he will eventually nibble off little bits and I don’t enjoy picking it up! This includes fabric, fuzzy and leather. I can’t claim that he’s house broken but I can say that he’s never gone to the bathroom in my house. He goes out often and he has demonstrated he can do his business outside. He wasn’t crate trained but he’s getting there. He sleeps in a crate at night and any time I’m not at home without issue. He doesn’t paw at the crate door or try and escape from it. Leo is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, heart worm negative, Giardia negative, worms/parasites negative. His teeth are pristine as is his shiny black fur. He has not been tested with young kids, small critters such as rabbits or large farm animals. There are two 6 month old kittens where he’s currently hanging his hat and they are in a catio. At times he will go and say hello to them and sometimes he’s exuberant about it and other times he’s just having a look. The things Leo needs work on is his basic obedience and leash manners. He’s clearly had none. He will sit when asked for his dinner and that’s about it. We are working on his basic skills and manners and training a dog is a life long commitment to always be consistent and never stop training or asking for a behaviour. He has never tried to escape the property or look for a way to get out. The property is set up for dogs so the opportunity rarely presents itself for a dog to get off the property.
