Apprentice Carpenter

Traine Construction is seeking an Apprentice Carpenter to join our team in Colwood. Position is available immediately. Competitive wages based on experience. Key Responsibilities: -Performs tasks involving basic Carpentry and construction knowledge, as well as physical labour at construction projects. -Operates a variety of hand and power tools. -Measures, marks and records openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed. -Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. -Erects and dissembles scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures. -Provides assistance to craft workers such as carpenters, plasterers and masons. Qualifications and Experience: -Previous experience as a construction labourer may be required. -Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures. -Knowledge of first aid and CPR preferred. -Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner if certified -Must possess a valid Driver's License. -Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods and the tools required in various construction processes. -Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. -Use of radio. Compensation: -$25.00-34.00 per hour
