I scanned my collection of about 2,800 photos and now no longer need the scanner. The scanner is rated for 200,000 scans. You can read all about the capabilities of the scanner on Epson's website. I scanned my photos at 600 dpi but it can scan at 300 or 1200 dpi. Takes about 5 seconds per scan if you're also scanning the back of the photo. The scanner can hold 35 photos at a time.
