Dee and Cee manufactured these dolls in Toronto 1938-1962. Soft vinyl head which turns and hinged limbs. Rooted dark blond hair with 4” braids and scattered bangs, big blue glass eyes and dark eyelashes that open and close when tipped. Separated fingers, fingernail impressions, knuckle and palm markings give her hands a remarkably lifelike appearance. Pink rosebud lips, nostril indents, front and back knee dimples and a belly button enhance this doll’s loveliness. Dressed in white underpants, plaid box-pleat skirt, red vinyl belt, cable knit yellow crew neck sweater and straw hat. White socks and black plastic Maryjanes with a bow stamped on, size 5T, came with doll. Includes : Matching yellow knit cap. Full-length navy wool cape with matching Sherlock cap, both lined in grey grid-pattern wool, and unlined tam. Blue and white party dress with lined skirt and gold metal bric-a-brac trim. Full pink linen skirt 5” w/band waist and dome snap closing Full pink crepe skirt 6” w/elastic waist. Plaid apron trimmed in white with real pocket. Pink gingham bloomers with white eyelet trim. White silk underpants with lace trim. All hand made in 1960s by a professional seamstress, my mother. 7-piece tiny tea set with rose pattern and gold trim.
