$1,400 · Private Room in Shared House

Greetings, I’m looking for a housemate to join me ideally starting February 1. Rent is $1400 plus utilities. The room is fully furnished (see pictures), though we can swap in your own furniture if preferred. The house is in the Quadra / McKenzie area, close to major bus routes, UVic, and daily essentials. It’s a well lit upstairs of a house, 2-bedroom, 2-bath with a living room, a den, a large backyard and deck. It has a spacious kitchen with new appliances including a dishwasher. The clothes washer and dryer are in the downstairs of the house. The available room is spacious with a big south facing window and deep closet. There is a park across the road with tennis courts and often the sound of children playing. There is one little short-haired female calico cat, so this likely won’t suit someone with strong cat allergies. I’m a UVic student three days a week and work three days a week at a cannabis compassion club. I keep the home calm, safe, and respectful. No spontaneous parties are held at the house, but visitors are okay and small planned gatherings can be arranged. The landlord is great and stops by every so often to make sure everything is going well and he takes care of the yardwork. The lease goes until august with a strong possibility for renewal. I’m 420-friendly, but smoking happens outside only. I enjoy shared space and conversation but also value independence and quiet. I love plants and you’re welcome to bring yours with you.
