$1 · Medical Foster Needed for a Malinois Puppy

Lexi is a 5 month old Malinois puppy that is currently on the injured list and needs a medical foster. Currently she has joint inflammation in her joints, several fractures on her legs and parts of her hip bone is missing. She is part of the rescue Guide Us Home German Shepherd Rescue Society which is a CRA registered rescue. 837147776RR0001. This little girl will undergo Orthopaedic surgery once her infections have resolved and could include hip and right elbow surgery. That won't be determined until she gets reassessed after the infections are gone. Lexi will need a quiet home where she can hang out in an X-Pen to recover. She may need to be lifted with a cloth sling right after surgery but that shouldn't last too long. That will be determined by the Ortho surgeon. At this time I do not have a time line for her recovery. This little puppy is a happy girl and enjoys being loved on by a human. She's been with other mellow dogs and was fine with them and at one point tried to engage. That will be off limits for a while. She likes toys and will shake soft stuffies. She will need to be in an X-Pen to limit the space she can roam around in. All supplies (X-pen, food, medications, toys etc) will be provided by the rescue. The fosters role is to provide a loving home, administer her meds as per her prescriptions and follow the surgeons recommendations for the amount of movement she's allowed to have.
