Solid wood dining table and six chairs Table: 87" x 42" x 32" high Fixed size, no leaf. Two drawers, one on each side. This table has some history. I bought it newly built in Brazil in 2004 and raised my family around it for the last 20 years in Canada. It was handmade in a small village in Brazil that specializes in furniture created from "demolition wood". That's wood salvaged from very old houses in Brazil, back when wood was really wood. This is a totally handmade table in which the wood dates back well over 100 years. The villagers used primarily hand tools and planers. This was not a factory, just artisans working in simple workshops in a small hill village. Regret I have forgotten what kind of wood it is, but it's all solid, no veneer. The table is structurally undamaged, but the top finish needs to be redone. We had a non-slip mat under the tablecloth for a while and the mat stuck to the finish. So the top needs to be stripped and refinished. There is one longitudinal crack in the top when the wood shrank slightly when we moved it to Canada. I think it gives it character. Otherwise, the table is in good shape. At 32 inches high, the table is a little higher than we are used to in North America by about 2 inches. The chairs are wooden frame, very solid. Upholstered with faux leather which has cracked on the seat as shown in the photo. The chairs were not made in Brazil. This furniture is free to the first person that commits to a firm pick up time on Saturday morning. I'll be working in the order in which I receive the emails. Pick up will be at my location in North Saanich. You will need a truck or trailer. The table top has been removed from the base to make it easier to handle, but the base does not disassemble (the legs do not come off).
