*pending* Free: 3 Quail Belgian Bearded d'Anver Cockerels. I have 3 approx 4 months old bantam cockerel. I purchased them from someone in 100 Mile House at approx 2 months old at the end of August, so I'm guessing they hatched end of June or beginning of July. Belgian Bearded d'Anvers are a very sweet bantam breed. They are similar to Belgian Bearded d'Uccles, just without the feathered feet and a rose comb instead of single comb. They have huge personalities in a small body. The males of this breed do really with standard hens, as they are are protective without being mean, and are too small to hurt the hens. This cockerels' colour isn't quite to standard for my breeding program, so I am looking to move then on to a new home, or for food for someone, you would need to process yourself. For full transparency, someone took these 3 cockerels and then returned them after 24 hours as they were not getting along after 12 hours with the hens, the hens were attacking them. If they had a few days they would be fine, the person just didn't give them enough time to re-establish the pecking order. Due to this, I have these 3 in quarantine as they left my property and were with an unknown flock for just under 24 hours. They are probably totally fine, but I practise biosecurity with my flock and don't want to take any chances. I don't really have the space for quarantining them dor 3 weeks as I wasn't planning to be quarantining any birds till the shows next spring/summer. As such I am highly motivated to move these 3 cockerels on to new homes or for food for someone. Located in Central Saanich.
