Located on the Victoria Side of 'Sooke', V9Z0E6, in a really pretty area up on a hill. Forest, mountain and harbour views- Near the famous Galloping Goose Trail and "West Coast Adventure College" . 7- 10 minutes drive to the village of Sooke for essential amenities , 15 -25 mins drive to the Westshore area ( Langford, Royal Roads etc ), 50 -60 min drive to UVic and downtown Victoria- *Driving times vary, with or without traffic. Best to have a car to live here ,as it is a semi rural area with limited amenities nearby. We are however, on a bus route ( it’s a 7-10 minute ‘ uphill' walk with stairs , back from the #61 bus stop , so some aerobic fitness required ! ). Unit Description : This unit is located on the top floor of our multigenerational family home. It is a self contained Studio style "bedsitting" room , approx 330 sq feet with its own private full bath , and it’s own entrance up a set of exterior stairs off our shared deck. It is simple yet comfortable. There are amazing views from the unit! Please note, there is no proper kitchen* in the unit, but it does have a meal prep counter with sink, mini Fridge, microwave, air fryer, and kettle, suited to making light meals (sorry no hotplates or toaster ovens allowed) .For regular meals you can share our family kitchen to use our bigger appliances*. *Because of the limited cooking and food storage options, this unit is really best suited to someone ok with just making light meals or having mostly meals out* Furnishings include : An extra firm Ikea double bed, dresser , desk, bookcase , dishes, cutlery etc. Everything you need is here, just bring your suitcase and bedding. Sorry no room for other furnishings, but there is room to store your outdoor gear like Kayaks etc. Shared laundry on site, available for 1 load per week . Laundry access Available for Non Smokers only. Rent includes ; 1. Utilities - Water, heat and hydro 'up to' $50 month * ( monthly average if typically working or attending school away from home ) . 2. Parking for regular size car ($25 rental discount to WCAC students without a car as the College is in walking distance) Not included in the rent , additional monthly charges: 1. *Any Utilities usage over $50 month:. You will be billed a small percentage of the house bill for any usage costs above this monthly average. Cost depends on how you use the amenities ie heat and hot water. 2. Wifi : if you wish to access our 'shared' house Wifi.. Additional $35 month. We are looking for an adult applicant who is quiet , tidy, and easy going, and comfortable in a culturally and gender ‘diverse’ household with young children and dogs present, and whose schedule jives with ours. . We also require renters to help chip in with some outdoor tasks like recycling , and snow removal around their entrance and vehicle. A ' Caveat ': As this is an older home, there will be some 'sound transference' and you may hear us from time to time, So not ideal for folks who are highly 'noise sensitive' very light sleepers, or plan to work mainly from home.
