Mt. Newton Floral is a family-based business that has been in operation since 1986. Located on the beautiful Saanich Peninsula of southern Vancouver Island, Mt. Newton is a floral farm, bouquet supplier and cut flower wholesaler. We are currently going through an exciting time of growth and are looking to add an experienced Delivery Driver to our team! The flower business operates in a urgent environment as we have limited time that our product remains fresh. The Driver requires repetitive movement of bending, twisting, crouching, kneeling, physically demanding, handling heavy loads. Delivery Driving skills and responsibilities: - exceptional customer service skills - detailed oriented and a responsible person - likes working in a team - understands what it takes to deliver fragile product. - must have experience driving a commercial vehicle and vehicle inspection - ability to drive various trucks up to a 5-ton - must have a valid BC drivers license in good standing and free from any restrictions - Yearly requirement to provide a drivers abstract - Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Able to lift up to 50lbs - Driver is responsible for organizing and securing their loads to ensure product arrives to customer in excellent condition and is correct. Work schedule is based on a 40 hour work week; must be available to work flexible hours and overtime especially during floral holidays. Benefits are available. Job may also include assisting in Flower Distribution Centre and Pick Up of product at Flower Auction in Vancouver. This is a Full time/ part time position for early birds. All welcome to apply.
