Wild Birds Unlimited Victoria is seeking a part time sales associate/bird feeding specialist to start immediately. We will provide full training for the right candidate. Prior customer service/retail/cash handling experience is required. This is a seasonal (Nov-March) position but could lead to permanent or reoccurring seasonal for the right fit. We are looking for someone who is available to work 20-30 hours per week; must be available weekdays between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm with flexibility to cover for weekend staff if needed. Regrettably this position is not suitable for high school students. Please be ready with a list of any dates you will need off in November and December. Our ideal new flock member is charismatic, personable and energetic. You have a get it done and get it done right attitude and you’ve got grit. You are a quick learner and thrive in a fast paced environment. You love customer interaction and conversation. You are passionate about nature, wildlife conservation and all of its living things. You work well as part of a team but are self motivated in independent work, efficient at managing your time and tasks. You are punctual and reliable. This is non negotiable as we are a very small staff. You are active, fit and can lift 40 lbs. You are an ally and at the very least care deeply about contributing to an inclusive environment and a safe work place for folks of all identities. And we love hearing them. 😊 We do a good amount of educational outreach and workshops to promote wildlife conservation and spread the “save the songbirds” message to our community. Our most recent was an after hours hands on workshop where participants harvested mason bee cocoons and prepared them for winter hibernation. We aim to remain a place where customer service and personal/professional accountability still exists and shines true. A trip to our store is a joyful event in our customer’s day.
