First conceived for the 1937 Paris Exposition and produced in this version by Firma Karl Mathsson in 1960, the piece balances sculptural elegance with everyday functionality. Crafted in bent birch with flowing, architectural lines, the frame supports original black linen webbing, which remains in good condition with a few minor losses that do not affect structure or use. The patina throughout is consistent with careful use and adds to its authentic, lived-in appeal.
