Hello! My name is Jake and I am the founder of Walking Together Counselling. I have been working as a social worker (MSW) for 7+ years and have extensive history working with substance addictions & all forms of mental health. I aim to create a space where you can have a real, intentional, meaningful experience; Where you can be met where you are at, and served with compassion and integrity. I have experience as a crisis counsellor & practice CBT, MI and ACT modalities. I have worked with a diverse population of people, LGBTQ folks, people experiencing homelessness, those with severe mental health challenges and First Nations communities. I approach my work with care, compassion and a dash of humor. My counselling is collaborative and client-centered, my approach reflects the uniqueness of each person who comes to see me. I recognize that trust and rapport are key to effective and enjoyable therapy. I offer a safe space for you to begin to understand your mental well-being more clearly as we work to reveal your own strengths and insights. Confidentiality and privacy are highly regarded, providing a space to be open as you feel comfortable. Offering conventional office based therapy, or if you like being out in nature we can meet up at a local trail for a walking session.
