Digester sits in the ground and will take dairy, cooked foods and meats amongst other things. Simply dump in and allow microbes to eat away food and distribute it to nearby soil. This is in good shape although I had to fix the strap that holds the lid on. Lining the below ground basket with hardware cloth makes it virtually impervious to rodents. Mine has been here for 20 years with no problems.
