Position: Cook Hours: 40 hours per week 0530hrs &ndash 1400hrs 1030hrs &ndash 1900hrs Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt is hiring civilian food services employees Cook&nbsp Prepares and cooks, presents, and delivers food products and services to diners/clients of the department through in-house food services, dispersed meals, sandwich/salad bars or take out services. Roasts, bakes, grills, fries and boils meat, poultry, fish and vegetables. Prepares salads, pasta, casseroles, rice, vegetables and dressings. Bakes breads and desserts and prepares fruit desserts. Assists in receiving, labeling, storing and distributing food service supplies (food and non-food items) to the appropriate area of the kitchen and/or dining facility, including weighing, portioning, packaging and labeling of products and ingredients. Cleans and maintains cooking equipment, tools, utensils and work areas. Collects and organizes verbal and written information and prepares production control charts, special menus and a variety of charts and/or forms. Common Qualifications: Willing and able to work shift schedule including weekends and holidays Willing and able to work overtime. Willing and able to wear and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in compliance with safety regulations. Willing and able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 20 kg. Willing and able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Possession of current Provincial (British Columbia) Food Safe Qualification or eligibility to obtain British Columbia Food Safe Qualification. Note: This certification is provincial only. Out of province candidates will have to requalify in BC.
