Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities: -Operate heavy equipment -Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications -Calculate weight, distance, volume and length measurements -Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. -Complete onboard and other logs -Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. -Secure special attachments to equipment. -Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment -Perform minor repairs to equipment. Credentials, Certificates, Licenses, Memberships, and Courses: -Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) -Certificate Ground Disturbance - Level II Type of Heavy Equipment Operated -Excavator, -Bulldozer, large or small Area of Work Experience: -Blast prep and rock excavation -Blue clay excavation and ground certification -Backfilling -Ditching -Excavation -Fine grading and finishing -Land clearing -Material handling -Rough grading -Slope grooming -Sloping and banking -Snow removal -Stock piling -Stripping -Stumping -Sub-grade excavating -Trenching Type of Industry Experience: -Blasting -Large bulk excavations -Pipeline construction -Road building Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: -Physically demanding -Attention to detail -Fast-paced environment -Overtime required -Ability to lift 50 lbs Job Types: -Full-time -Permanent Salary: $28.00-$40.00 per hour (Depending on experience) Benefits: -Dental care -Medical care -Extended health care -Life insurance Schedule: -10 hour shift Supplemental pay types: -Overtime pay Experience: -Heavy equipment operator: 5 years (preferred)
