This is a stunning Wayne Ngan (1937-2020) hand thrown studio pottery plate. This impressively designed and glazed piece has been lovingly restored and displays beautifully. This is a very unique and one-of-a-kind example of his work. A great piece for any collection of Ngan's efforts even with the repair. Over the course of five decades Wayne received Canada's most prestigious awards. In 1977 - the Governor General’s Commemorative Medal. In 1983 - the Saidye Bronfman Award. In 1984 a Canada Arts Council grant to build a kiln. In 2013 - the British Columbia Creative Achievement Award of Distinction. This is a substantial piece of hand-crafted studio pottery by an acclaimed and highly respected Canadian artist.
