Here is a beautiful vintage Celadon vase from Longquan, China. Celadon green represents jade in Chinese art, and jade is highly valued in the culture. The embossed intertwining lotus flowers give a three dimensional quality to the vase surface. The lotus symbol represents purity, a beautiful flower sprouting from the mud in which it grows. This story of eternal growth is told in the detail around the base of the piece as well as the fresh shoots up near the neck. This substantial vase is 7" high and 7.5" wide at the widest point. The vase weighs 1.35 kilos. (3.4 pounds). It is not fragile. The piece is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or crackle.
