Two versions of this jug were made, one with a tin top and the most desirable with a pewter top like this one. The inside of the top bears the patent date JUL 16. 72. C&W This piece is in pristine condition and is museum quality As an indication of the authenticity of the piece, the second image shown in green fluorescence is the result of exposing the jar to long wave black light.
