We are seeking a Disability Inclusion & Awareness Trainer with lived experience of disability to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about accessibility and inclusion, enjoys public speaking, and thrives in both structured and independent work environments. Key Responsibilities • Deliver engaging and customized training sessions (in-person and via Zoom) to businesses and organizations on disability inclusion and awareness. • Distribute and review pre-training surveys to assess participant knowledge, comfort level, and preferred scenarios to address. • Adapt presentation content based on survey results and audience needs. • Answer participant questions during sessions, often requiring the ability to think quickly and respond thoughtfully. • Use Microsoft PowerPoint to create and update high-quality, visually accessible presentations. • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for training sessions. • Contribute to advertising and promotional strategies for the training program. • Engage in continuous learning to stay current with trends, best practices, and diverse perspectives on disability (including reading, research, webinars, and networking). • Mentor or help onboard future trainers as the program grows. Qualifications & Requirements • Lived experience with disability (required). • Presentation skills or a willingness to develop them with support. • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and familiarity with Zoom. • Ability to think on your feet and engage comfortably in Q&A scenarios. • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. o Mileage reimbursed. o Some overnight travel may be required (all expenses covered). • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated—although some training will be provided, the successful candidate will need to take initiative in self-directed learning and professional development. • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. • Flexible availability depending on training bookings. Nice to Have (Assets) • Experience delivering presentations, workshops, or adult education. • Experience mentoring others or training new facilitators. • Background in accessibility, human rights, or diversity and inclusion.
