Michael Benedict, a member of the Maclean's Board of Editors, has been with the newsmagazine in a variety of roles since 1986. In 1994, he conceived and oversaw the production of the June 6 special issue commemorating the 50th anniversary of the D-Day landing. It was that project that gave him the idea of collecting in one volume the best war stories that have appeared in Maclean's throughout its nearly one hundred years of publication. Beginning his journalist's career as a copy boy at the CBC newsroom in Montreal, he went on to reporting jobs with the St. John's Evening Telegram and in Ottawa's Parliamentary Press Gallery for The Toronto Star and CTV. In 1980, he moved to Toronto and worked in communications for the Government of Ontario and Canada Post before returning to his first love, journalism, with Maclean's. Condition: Used, New.
