$30 · Team Leader - Integrated Family Services

JOB SUMMARY The Integrated Family Services (IFST) Team Leader will be responsible for providing leadership to staff of the following programs: Family Center (early childhood), C’Nex Intensive Parenting Program, Family Development, Youth Outreach & Youth Self Sufficiency (youth transitioning to adulthood), and the Homeless Family Outreach Program. This includes monitoring of program budgets, providing case reviews, ensuring reporting requirements are met and databases are complete, assist in grant or funding proposals, program development/assessment and promote agency in the community. The Team Leader must actively deal with challenging and complex cases to ensure a high level of professional, quality, and client focused service is provided. A thorough knowledge of child welfare system is essential. The program manager will be required to work closely with the Executive Director as part of BGCA’s Management Team. The Team Leader is also responsible for daily staff management, including hiring, financial accountability, performance evaluations and team relationship. This position also requires a high level of commitment to Burnside Gorge Community Association’s mission, values and best practices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Hire, train & evaluate staff for multiple programs • Provide leadership and case management to the team • Model and foster an effective and collaborative team culture • Plan, develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate the delivery of program services • Liaise and collaborate with MCFD team leaders and social workers • Connect and collaborate with businesses and community partners to enhance existing programming • Promote agency and programs to funders and the larger community • Ensure reporting requirements to funders are met • Ensure staff case files, spreadsheets, and databases are complete within the expected timeframe • Review, validate, and reconcile all staff expenditures • Review and reconcile monthly profit and loss statements • Represent BGCA on a variety of committees and coalitions • Work effectively with management team to ensure BGCA program delivery and guide policy and procedure. • Engage in continuous quality assurance and program evaluations • Provide current best practices and updated research as well as program information for grant and funding proposals SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE • Ability to motivate staff and build strong teams • Extensive knowledge of the child welfare, youth services, and social assistance systems • Working knowledge of child development from birth to adolescence • Solid knowledge of youth and the issues they face • Experience and understanding of working in crisis-driven work as well as experience with triage • Effective communication – verbal and written • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment • Good public relation skills • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to prioritize. • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make in the moment decisions for programs and the organization • Excellent assessment skills • Ability to oversee diverse programs and meet with needs of multiple staff • Ability to manage multiple budgets and monthly profit and loss statements • Proven critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills • Ability to perform basic computer skills and learn new database systems. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This position requires the ability to function independently and frequently under pressure while managing deadlines, including effectively managing emergency situations. Program delivery activities may require a moderate level of physical fitness to effectively carry out the duties of this position. QUALIFICATIONS • Degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care • A minimum of 7 years’ experience working directly with high risk children, youth and families involved with MCFD • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and be flexible • Demonstrated awareness of community resources • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate with community partners • Ability to work independently and frequently under pressure while managing deadlines including effectively managing emergency situations. HOURS OF WORK Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Expectations include volunteering some hours for community special events that promote and support programs of BGCA. $30/hr with a competitive benefits package after completion of three-month probation.
