Machinist

Foreman CNC Machining Ltd is growing to meet demand and looking to add to our team. We have two full time, permanent positions available at our modern facility in beautiful Sidney, BC. You are an experienced machinist or machinist's apprentice who lives all things precision and enjoys a fast paced, varied work environment. You are comfortable working to tight tolerances in a variety of materials and familiar with Haas milling machines, fanuc controllers, and MasterCam. Duties: - read/interpret blueprints/drawings - develop a procedure to machine parts to drawing specification - select appropriate tooling - program multi operation parts with CAD/CAM software - create reusable fixtures and jigs for each operation when required - cut material for production (alloy steels, stainless, aluminum, bronze, HDPE, acetal) - setup vertical CNC lathe or CNC milling machines with workholding/fixtures and tooling - measure/inspect all critical dimensions - keep machine operating through large and small production batches of parts - optimize machining process to save time over large production batches - monitor machines, tooling, dimension/quality and maintain as required requirements: Journeyman machinist or 3 years experience or completed 1st year machinist apprentice schooling Foreman CNC Machining Ltd is a precision CNC Machine shop in Sidney BC with clients from the aerospace, oceanographic, forestry, medical, and marine industries.
