Software Licensing Specialist

Position Overview: Microserve has an opening for a Software Licensing Specialist (SLS) to provide inside sales and business development related support. You will report to the Inside Sales Manager and your primary goal will be to ensure that our clients receive the best possible experience with Microserve. As the SLS, you will work closely with Microserve Account Executives and clients to provide expert solutions in pre- and post-sale capacity with all facets of software acquisition needs. You will liaise between clients and internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to our client needs and company goals. Roles and Responsibilities: Consult with customers to determine their requirements and identify licensing/subscription models that are best suited for their needs Keep current with strategic software vendors (e.g. Microsoft, Veeam, VMWare, Adobe, etc.) licensing and subscription models and articulate the benefits of available options Understand product sets and related product SKUs as pertaining to software licensing and assets Familiarity with how to use vendor and distribution/partner portal to manage customer licensing and certification Review changes with customer licensing agreements (Microsoft) to ensure accurate invoicing and usage Evaluate current software usage for customers to optimize their license purchase vehicle Assist the clients to identify their position on license compliance across publishers like Microsoft, VMware, Adobe etc. Assist the clients in addressing the challenges related to software licensing by identifying solutions for reducing compliance exposure Understand the trends and technological evolutions of cloud-based licensing models and subscriptions to help customers be ready for cloud-based solutions Maintain up to date expertise with vendor licensing requirements, terms and conditions - including but not limited to end-user licensing agreements (EULA) Proactive follow-up with Account Managers and customers regarding license renewals or up-selling opportunities Manage licensing contracts and their relationships to maximize value creation for customers When appropriate drives customer adoption, expansion and renewal of their software purchases as it relates to our core practice solutions (such as end-user computing) Collaborate with Microserve leadership team to make recommendations on how to continue to add value to our clients in managing their software spend Attend license training and earn partner certifications Maintain an accurate view of software license risk for customer where applicable Maintain and improve quality results by following standards and recommending improved policies and procedures as it pertains to software licensing and usage Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in IT industry, preferably in Software Asset Management and software licensing 3-5 years of experience in full cycle in Software Licensing sales including configuring and quoting software licenses and products Familiarity with IT/technology and software & cloud licensing Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attentiveness to detail Demonstrate autonomy and leadership skills to grow and evolve our practice overtime Excellent written and verbal communication skills Nice to have: software training, licensing and certification (Microsoft, Veeam, Adobe and VMWare) Nice to have: active involvement in drafting & streamlining Software Asset Management Process
