A gorgeous and very high quality well weighted sterling silver vintage carving set just in time for the holidays! PRICE REDUCED! This set has rarely (if ever) been used. The knife is VERY sharp. There is a sterling guard (to protect your hand and fingers) between both the handle of the knife and the blade and the handle of the fork and the tines. Knife Marked: "Stieff Sterling" on Knife Guard, "The Stieff Stainless: Sterling H2" on Blade Fork Marked: "Stieff Sterling" on Fork Guard, "Stainless" on Fork Tines Excellent condition, appears unused, no wear or scratches. I have cleaned or polished the set The knife weighs 201 grams. The fork weighs 213 grams. Knife Size: 13 7/8" long Fork Size: 11 1/2" long Pattern: Homewood (Sterling, 1938, No Monograms) Special Characteristics: STRLGGUARD (guards on knife and fork) This set was given to me by a friend about 25 years ago when I lived in California. It was from her mother's silverware set. I believe it was made in 1943. The Homewood pattern first came out in 1938. They had to stop using silver(had supply until 1943) and stainless steel because of WWII.
