Meet up mornings at London Drugs on Yates. Firm price Excellent condition, no cracks, chips or crazing, it is large and heavy, it weighs over 3 lbs, so filled with water it would be 7 pounds approx. it doesn’t have a manufacturer but I’m sure it’s made in England, not all manufacturers stamped or engraved their teapots, often they had a sticker that would fall off. Another telltale sign of an authentic Brown Betty made in England is the unglazed ring on the bottom and the fact that it does NOT drip! Only the English teapots don’t drip it seems. Also it lays flat upside down for proper drain-dry….only the English teapots are like that! Shiny brown glaze. As shown at the top edge on the rim there’s a manufacturing flaw on the glaze. It holds 2 litres to the very top, which is 68 ounces. “Teacups” are 6 ounces, so it’s a 10-11 cup teapot. The lid is what I think was called “locking” as you turn it a slight amount after it’s on and it won’t fall out when pouring tea! See the last photo. Although likely best to hold it! The tea cozy is brand new, still has the plastic tag on it, very thick and fits perfectly. It was $20 at a craft market! Comes with a new stainless steel mesh infuser (it was $7)
